Discovery Across
Lunar Observations
DALO, Discovery Across Lunar Observations, is a brand name that refers collectively to the research and development projects focused on the Moon by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI). These projects aim to understand the lunar environment not only from a scientific perspective but also in terms of space explorations including human-related experiments, via institutional research and intra-/inter-national collaboration.
Korea Pathfinder
Lunar Orbiter
The Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO), Danuri, was launched on August 5th, 2022. KPLO is orbiting the Moon at an altitude of 100 ± 30 km during the nominal mission of up to 12 months including the commissioning phase. The objectives of the KPLO mission are to develop critical technologies for lunar exploration and deep space communications, to scientifically investigate the environment of the Moon, and to realize and validate new space technologies such as space internet.

Commercial Lunar Payload
Services
We are developing four science payloads in collaboration with domestic universities to operate on the lunar surface as a part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) based on the KASI-NASA Exploration Working Group. The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of Korea supports the development, mission operation, and data analyses of the payloads.
